Brand Shoot at Calcourt Equestrian

We spent a day at Calcourt Equestrian, the home of showjumper Joe Fernyhough and his parents, Rowland and Ali, to capture content for their new website and social channels. To us, the success of a content shoot lies not just in the technical prowess of our photographers and videographers, but in capturing the soul and energy of the yard we visit. It's about freezing moments that transcend the physical act of jumping that we see at competitions, and convey the everyday passion, commitment, and love for horses that define the Calcourt brand.

As breeders and producers of sport horses and showjumpers, the focus was to capture not only the day-to-day activities at the yard but also the different niches that differentiate their business from others in the industry.

Crafting a Visual Legacy

In the realm of modern sports, the importance of photoshoots for athletes and their business, cannot be overstated. These visual narratives serve as potent tools for elevating an athlete’s profile and growing their support network, particularly in the digital sphere. By curating compelling imagery, athletes will not only grow their social media presence but will be provided with an opportunity to share insight into their everyday lives, creating authenticity and relatability. In a world where visuals resonate profoundly with followers, customers, and fans, photo- and video shoots emerge as the key to unlocking and crafting a visual legacy.

When attending shoots as done at Calcourt, we aim to create images that can serve as timeless artifacts, to ensure storytelling that extends beyond the fleeting moments of competition and showcases the athlete’s true brand. The focus for the brand shoot was to create a narrative that resonates with both longtime supporters and newcomers to the sport, offering a behind-the-scenes peek into the daily life of a busy showjumping yard. These include candid moments of riders sharing a quiet word with their horses, grooms meticulously caring for the equine athletes, and the camaraderie among the team members, all creating a tapestry of stories that resonate with the audience.

The Power of Photoshoots in Social Media Growth and Sponsorship Activation

A day dedicated to capturing content in this manner not only serves as a visual feast for budding equestrian enthusiasts or existing fans but also plays a crucial role in elevating the profile of the riders and the horses they partner with. As the images and videos reverberate across social media, they create a ripple effect, drawing in new enthusiasts and thereby growing social channels to increase exposure within the equestrian community and its supporters.

For sponsors, the exposure generated through social media shares, likes, and comments following a shoot, amplifies the sponsor's reach far beyond the confines of their immediate community. To us, working with riders is all about creating a symbiotic relationship with their sponsors. Sponsors provide essential support, and in return, they gain visibility to a diverse and engaged audience, and the key to this is ensuring that the riders and their brands provide their sponsors with content regularly.
